Smart speakers & WiFi loudspeakers - listening made easier

Wi-Fi speakers and smart speakers don't rely on cables and instead deliver powerful hi-fi sound, which are easy to operate. You just need to plug the speakers in. Additional devices such as amplifiers or preamplifiers are also not necessary. Wi-fi speakers and smart speakers allow you to easily stream your music via smartphone app or voice control via Alexa or Google assistant (e.g. with the HOLIST M). This means additional playback devices, such as CD players are not required, as the entire music transmission takes place over your Wi-Fi network. These can be for both hi-fi systems or loudspeakers. What they have in common is that both are active speakers with integrated amplifiers. There are small but subtle differences between Wi-Fi speakers and Smart Speakers to take note of though.

What is a smart speaker?

Smart or streaming loudspeakers are devices with an integrated amplifier and a digital voice assistant. That's why additional microphones are integrated into each of the speakers. The voice assistant itself is a software or programme that specialises in recognising voice commands, to allow us to communicate with the device. This can be the control of the volume, the selection of the playlist or the song, but also the setting of an alarm time. Smart speakers can also be integrated into smart home solutions, depending on the software used. The term "smart" for smart speakers, therefore, refers purely to the software used to recognise voice commands (such as the Alexa speaker from Amazon Echo products).

What is a Wi-Fi speaker?

In comparison to smart speakers, Wi-Fi speakers cannot be controlled directly by voice commands. The speaker must always be controlled via the corresponding app or the controls on the speaker itself. Since the speaker does not first have to recognise a voice but receives the control command directly, it is not classified as a smart device. Likewise, no artificial intelligence is necessary for the control software. As the name suggests, Wi-Fi speakers use the domestic Wi-Fi network for transmission. Teufel streaming speakers can also be used via Bluetooth.

Smart meets sound - our HOLIST speakers

In addition, various sound modes can be selected, Spotify Connect is integrated and extensive control and streaming functions are available in the Teufel HOLIST app with TIDAL, NAPSTER, TuneIn and local files. 4 HD microphones and electronic noise cancelling guarantee that voice commands are reliably picked up from all directions and at high volumes. For safety's sake, there is of course a hardware switch-off for all microphones. There is also a stand available for the HOLIST M. Of course, we have also built-in control buttons for direct control, an action button, alarm clock, Bluetooth, as well as an AUX input for e.g. CD player or pre-amplified record player into this intelligent speaker. A high-quality, easy-to-clean fabric cover was used to create a chic look.

How can I connect a wireless speaker to my home network?

Many music lovers buy wireless, multi-room capable speakers in order to be able to listen to powerful sound synchronously in several rooms. To make this work, many wireless boxes from Teufel can be connected with each other. The Raumfeld technology integrated into Teufel streaming systems make this possible.

Using the Multiroom function, several Smart Speakers can play in sync or play different music in each room. To do this, install the free Teufel Raumfeld app on your smartphone. You can use this home hub to manage your rooms, group individual wireless speakers together and create individual playlists for different moods and occasions. In addition, you can also integrate a separate network or an Internet-enabled hard drive and access your music library conveniently via the Raumfeld App. But that's not all! You can also adjust the volume and sound individually for each room using the equaliser.

With the Teufel Raumfeld app, you can operate your smart home devices without the interruption of calls and messages - unlike via Bluetooth speakers, the current song simply continues to play. The app can be used to play music from streaming services such as Spotify, TIDAL, TuneIn or Napster to all rooms. You can also listen to music from a record player, CD player, USB stick or hard drive.

So you don't have to give up your beloved CD collection or record player and can use the so-called line-in streaming. This allows you to connect additional external devices, digitise the signal and stream it to other rooms. Spotify or Alexa are also already integrated, depending on the product.

Wi-Fi speakers and streaming boxes are not the only devices you can use for wireless sound. A wireless soundbar also provides music enjoyment in your home and also improves the sound of your integrated TV boxes, even via HDMI. And if you also want to wake up to music, we recommend our Wi-Fi radio with an alarm function.

Teufel One series - small, but mighty

Small but mighty - this description applies to the Teufel One series. Once connected to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, you're immediately in a music paradise. You can stream your favourite songs in high quality. The Teufel One speakers have control buttons with which you can adjust the volume, for example. And in the evening, the last song will lull you into a well-deserved sleep thanks to the sleep timer. The streaming speakers can be controlled via our Raumfeld app. This means that the smart speakers of the One series can also be integrated into a multi-room concept together with the speakers of the Teufel Stereo series. Of course, they also have a separate analogue AUX input, e.g. for external CD players.

Teufel Streaming Stereo-Series - the bigger side of the picture

With the stereo streaming series, we show that wireless smart speakers don't have to be small. The stereo speakers are available for the shelf and as a pair of floor-standing speakers, each with a three-way system with high-end coaxial drivers for extreme precision in the mid-range and treble range. In the STEREO M and STEREO L, carbon woofers provide pressure, volume and a rich kick bass.

Thanks to Raumfeld technology, these can also be controlled via the Teufel Raumfeld app (available free of charge for iOS and Android). Together with the TEUEL ONE M and TEUFEL ONE S, they can stream your music to all rooms in the house or flat. To ensure that you don't get bored with the selection, TIDAL, Spotify Connect and TuneIn for Internet radio streaming are also available in the Teufel Raumfeld app.

Nonstop music - the MUSICSTATION

If you don't want a multi-room system, but don't want to miss out on powerful sound, then you should consider our MUSICSTATION. This all-in-one streaming device has all kinds of gadgets and functions. It has a CD drive (supports MP3 CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs and, of course, normal CDs), a USB port (for MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, FLAC) and an AUX input. For wireless control, you can use our free Teufel Remote App. Amazon Music, Spotify Connect, Internet radio, DAB+, FM radio and voice control via Amazon Alexa are integrated. Free yourself from the cables

Those who are now worried about becoming hopelessly entangled in cable tangles after their new purchase can breathe a sigh of relief. Streaming audio signals are completely wireless; if the system is integrated into the home network via Wi-Fi, the streaming box only needs to be connected to the power socket. Meaning you don't have to worry about the appropriate music format. Teufel streaming speakers support common formats such as MP3, AAC, OGG, ASF and, in the third generation, also have Bluetooth.
