Subwoofer M 5500 SW THX Select
The System 5 subwoofer is able to fulfil the very demanding THX Select requirements with a smaller cabinet volume than its predecessor. As a result, the M 5500 SW THX Select requires much less space without impairing the sound quality or level!
The compact cabinet contains a 300 mm woofer with a neodymium magnet driven by a new class D amplifier rated at 600 W peak power and 350 W RMS power. Teufel’s own DPU reflex system ensures that bass frequencies remain powerful yet free of distortion. The subwoofer is ideally suited for rooms of up to 50 m2 in area.

Satellite Speaker M 550 FCR THX Select
Whether mounted on the wall, on a stand or in a shelf – this extremely powerful all-rounder is an enhancement for every home theatre system. The hi-tech driver provides a highly detailed listening experience and its enormous dynamic range ensures that every DVD soundtrack sounds like it does in the cinemas. Because they are absolutely identical the three front channel speakers never colour the sound, even when film scenes move from one side of the screen to the other.
By the way - this separately available universal direct-radiating System 5 speaker is a perfect complement for an existing surround sound system as a centre channel when upgrading or rear centre channel, as required by 6.1 configurations.
Please note that the speaker grilles should be used to ensure optimal sound quality. Without the grilles, the frequency response changes and the sound will become slightly harsher and more brittle.

Pair Dipole Speaker M 550 D THX Select
The M 550 D is responsible for the sound effects from the rear and other spatial details.
To ensure that the sound field remains as diffuse and non-directional as possible, this speaker operates as a dipole. Here, one 130 mm woofer and two 25 mm tweeters are installed in each speaker and radiate sound forwards and backwards in opposite directions to each other. This results in a diffuse sound field and keeps direct sound to a minimum so that listeners are not able to locate the source of the sound. This provides listeners with the impression of being fully immersed in a three-dimensional soundscape.
The patented THX® dipole circuitry provides linear frequency response for the effect channels from 80 Hz upwards.
